The short answer is open-source Kheprianism. The Path of the Kherete books and guides take material that is centered in the Kheprian ideology and comprised of material previously used in House member training, along with resources from elsewhere, to provide a path of vampirism and energy work that you can choose to follow. What is the relationship between House Kheperu and the Kherete Project? A portion of the material used in the Kherete books is written by members and allies of House Kheperu, or is taken from material that has been previously used in the House's training. Aside from that, there is no official connection. Some members of the administration or of the Kherete Houses may be affiliated in some way with House Kheperu, but it is not a prerequisite, nor does it mean anything for the project. Kherete Houses are not mini-House Kheperu's or sister Houses, nor are they under the official supervision or surveillance of HK. Why was the Kherete Project started? Since the release of The Psychic Vampire Codex, many people all over the world have felt a connection to the Kheprian system and practices. House Kheperu is primarily a local organization and is set up to introduce only a few new members each year, so it was impossible to accommodate all interested parties. The Path of the Kherete was released to give those people something to identify with, without falsely claiming the title "Kheprian" and potentially causing trouble for House Kheperu. What are your plans for the Kherete Project? At the moment, very mutable. We currently plan to continue working on the main Kherete books as well as some supplementary mini-books and guide to be released off-season. We are also working on our forums, to give people a place to connect. We watch the development of the initial Kherete beta-Houses, using their experiences to help us find where more or less guidance is needed. Beyond that, it is up in the air. Potential future projects include a limited curriculum of online lessons (magic, energy work, and related skills), regional maps or databases, possibly an online Kherete House for those who are isolated. When will the next book come out? The official main Kherete books are released on an annual schedule, so look to when the last book was first released for an idea. Supplemental mini-books or other materials may be released in the months between book releases, so keep checking back for updates. What if I don't agree with how things are done in the Kherete books; can I change things? Yes. The Kherete books are not dogma, merely suggestions. You are encouraged to take and tweak, adapt for your purposes. If you find something new that works, you are welcome to come to the forums and share your successes; perhaps other Houses will be inspired by your work. What should I do if I have a problem with a Kherete House? Any concerns that an established Kherete House is not following the few regulations administration has set forth or is otherwise giving the Kherete project a bad name, should be directed at the administration for handling via the contact form. If the form is not working, eMail grievances to admin@kherete.org. What do I need to do to found a Kherete House? A few friends and an eager spirit. If you agree to comply with the Black Veil (as published in the Codex), you meet our requirements. Download whatever books and supplemental material are available and have fun. If you have specific questions on establishing your House, you can submit a question to our House Expert via the contact form or the forums. I am from XYZ location, can I found a House? Yes; there is no restriction regarding location. How do I find other members? At the present time, the best way to network is posting in the regional sections of our forums. Can there be more than one Kherete house in the same region? Yes; neither House Kheperu nor the administrators of the Kherete project will issue restrictions on number of Houses in a location. However, we strongly recommend if there is already a House in your region, that you attempt to establish a relationship with them. If you find you are not compatible joining them as a member, perhaps your Houses can work together as allies. Can I call myself Kherete if I am not part of a Kherete House? Yes, the Path of the Kherete is for both individuals and Houses. All you must do in order to be Kherete is agree to follow the Black Veil (as published in the Codex). I see all these mentions of different Kherete or Kheretian Houses; what do I do if I want to join House Kherete? There is no "House Kherete". There is no one single body that is the flagship of the Kherete movement. The administration has discussed possible eventual formation of an online House for those who don't have enough locals to start a real-time House, but it will be by some other name.
